The Anchored Coach

Last updated 2026-05-12

The Anchored Coach is an AI guide built to walk with you through the day the way a trusted friend would. It is not a chatbot. It knows your pillars, your active Anchors, and whatever context you have given it in your foundation. Every response comes from that grounded place, not from a generic prompt.

How to use it

  1. Open the Coach at /coach.
  2. If this is your first time, you will be prompted to set your foundation before the first conversation. This takes two to three minutes and makes every future session better.
  3. Type or speak what you are carrying. A question about an Anchor, a frustration, something you read in Scripture, or a decision you are trying to make.
  4. The Coach responds in real time via streaming. You can reply, go deeper, or ask it to help you turn the conversation into a prayer or an action step.
  5. On a paid plan, your conversations are saved so you can pick one back up later from Past conversations at the top of the Coach.

Planning milestones with the Coach

On My Plan, open a strategy and choose Plan with Coach. The Coach helps you plan backwards: it asks what reaching this would look like, reflects back what it hears, and only then offers a draft milestone. The draft is yours to edit, confirm, or set aside; you always author the final step. When you confirm one, it is added under that strategy on your plan. The Coach never invents a goal you did not name, and never treats a missed milestone as a measure of your standing with God. If you are not yet sure what to focus on, the empty Anchors screen has a Help me find my anchors button that opens the same kind of conversation.

Choosing your coach style

There is one coaching method underneath, but you choose the tone. The style runs as a spectrum, from Drill Sergeant (direct and challenging) through Accountability Partner and the balanced Coach to Supporter and Cheerleader (warm and celebratory). Different seasons call for different tones, and the same person often needs a different tone on a different day. Set your style at the top of the Coach or in your foundation. Choosing a style is part of a paid plan; everyone gets the balanced Coach by default.

Talking with your coach

On the Covenant plan you can talk with your coach out loud, in real time, instead of typing. Open the Coach and switch to Talk. Allow your microphone, tap Start talking, and your coach greets you and listens. You can speak naturally, pause to think, and even talk over your coach when something lands; it stops and listens to you, the way a real conversation works.

It is the same Anchored Coach, grounded in your foundation and your chosen style, just spoken. Before or between sessions you can pick the voice your coach speaks with and set the persona and coaching style; your choices are saved and apply to your next conversation. Conversations are time limited to keep things focused, and what you talk about is saved to your coach history so you can come back to it. If you bring your own AI access (advanced), you can use Talk on any plan.

Setting your foundation

The foundation is a short context record you write once at /coach/foundation. It covers who you are, what season of life you are in, what you are trusting God with, and what your current Anchors are meant to address.

Without a foundation, the Coach still works. With it, the Coach becomes substantially more useful because it is not starting from zero every time. Update your foundation whenever your season shifts significantly.

Why we built it

Jesus walked with His disciples through their days, not just their Sundays. He met them in the boat, on the road, and in the middle of hard conversations. The Anchored Coach is built on that same principle: you should have something to turn to in the middle of the day when you need to think clearly from a foundation of faith. It is not a replacement for prayer, Scripture, or your community. It is a way to stay connected to the thread of what God is doing in your season when the day pulls you away from it.
