Getting started in your first 5 minutes

Last updated 2026-05-07

AnchoredTime is a daily life operating system for Christians. The goal is simple: order your day around Jesus. This guide walks you through the first five minutes after you create your account so nothing feels unfamiliar.

Create your account

Go to anchoredtime.com/signup. You need only an email address. No credit card is required for the Seedling free tier. After you confirm your email, you will land on the onboarding flow.

Installing the app

AnchoredTime is a Progressive Web App, which means you can install it on your device and it will open like a native app without any browser chrome. Installing is optional but recommended - it gives you faster launch times, offline access to content you have already loaded, and unlocks motion-sensor breath coaching in Anchored Reset.

  • Desktop (Chrome, Edge, Brave): Look for the Install app button in the top bar. Click it and confirm. AnchoredTime will appear in your taskbar or dock like any other app.
  • Android (Chrome): A banner will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap Install and confirm. You can also tap the browser menu and choose Add to Home screen.
  • iPhone and iPad (Safari): Open AnchoredTime in Safari. Tap the Share button (the box with an arrow pointing up), then choose Add to Home Screen. The app will appear on your home screen like any other app. You must use Safari for this to work - Chrome and Firefox on iOS do not support PWA installation.

If you dismissed the install prompt and want it back, wait 30 days and it will reappear, or use your browser's built-in install option in the address bar or menu.

Pick your pillars

Onboarding will ask you to choose which of the nine Anchorful Pillars are active for this season. The nine pillars are grouped under three arenas:

  • Faith: Devotion, Formation, Mission
  • Stewardship: Health, Wealth, Influence
  • Legacy: Family, Core6, Community

You do not have to activate all nine. Most people start with five or six that feel alive right now. You can add or remove pillars at any time from Settings. The pillars you activate determine which categories appear when you tag anchors, prayers, and journal entries.

If you are unsure where to start, pick Devotion, Health, and one Legacy pillar (Family, Core6, or Community). Those three cover the most common reason people come to AnchoredTime: they want prayer to be daily, they want to care for the body God gave them, and they want to love the people in their home better.

Set your first anchor

An Anchor is one of your seasonal focal points - an area of life Jesus has your attention on right now. It can be a faith practice, a health habit, a family commitment, a work mission, or anything across the nine sub-domains. Think of it like a peg in the wall: something you hang the day on.

After pillar selection, you will be prompted to create your first anchor. Tap the plus button, type a title (for example: “Talk with Jesus,” “30-minute workout,” or “Presence with family”), choose a pillar, and set a time. That is it. You have just built the first peg in your daily structure.

Do not overthink the first anchor. One line. One pillar. One time of day. You can build from there. The goal is to start, not to architect a perfect system on day one.

See How to set Anchors for the full guide on recurrence, pillar mapping, and ideas for each part of the day.

Log your first prayer

Tap the Prayer tab. You will see a simple text field. Type whatever is on your heart. It does not need to be eloquent. This is not a performance. It is a record between you and God.

Give the prayer a title if you want to find it later (for example: “For my daughter” or “Before the meeting”). You can also leave the title blank and let AnchoredTime generate one from the first line.

Prayers are private. Row-level security at the database layer means only your account can read your entries. If you are on a paid tier, the AI can surface relevant past prayers when you ask for them, but your content is never used to train AI models and is never seen by our team.

Try an Anchored Reset

Before you close the app, open the Reset tab and start a session. Anchored Reset is available on every tier, including Seedling free. A short session (two minutes) will give you a feel for how it works: breath pacing, audio, and a closing Scripture prompt.

You do not need to understand every part of it on day one. Just try it. See Using Anchored Reset for a full walkthrough.

What comes next

You have set a pillar, created an anchor, logged a prayer, and tried a Reset session. That is a complete first day.

Tomorrow, when the notification fires for your anchor, tap it, complete the step, and mark it done. That is the rhythm. Each completed anchor contributes to the Faithful Wheel of Life, which gives you a sight line on where God walked with you over a week or a month.

If you want AI-powered guidance (AI-suggested Faithful Actions, Smart Recall, and more), see pricing for the paid tiers, or add your own AI keys via BYOK setup.
